5k chase: Does a zombie run result in more injuries?

Typically, road (or trail) (or obstacle) races are somewhat "easy" going. You can run as leisurely or as intensely as you'd like. You can set your own pace, pop in some tunes, join up with friends, and cruise along an enjoyable route. It's fun to most; addicting to many. Not this one. This one is different. This particular race is a 5k obstacle. We've all seen those. Many have completed Read the entire post [...]

Georgia road races to plan for in February 2012

If you haven't noticed yet, I have a gigantic state of Georgia on my header. There's a reason behind that. I promise. Running in the state of Georgia (a.k.a God's country) is the best. You've got everything from beach runs, to city races, to mountain adventures. Run one of the most popular Ironman races or an extremely low-key community 5k. There's a race for every runner. Training for the 2012 Gasparilla 15k

"So..." you ask, "how's training for the 2012 Gasparilla Distance Classic going?" My answer would sound something a lot like this: "It's not." 3 great Christmas gifts for the runner in your life

Christmas is practically here. Ok - you're right - it's here. This is late, but better late then never. Unless it's a Christmas gift, then just save it for another time. But I realllly love these Christmas gift ideas, so I just had to share them with y'all. They'd work for a birthday, too, though. You may or may not have seen Runner's World's gift guide for runners, but, um, yawn! Here are 3 great Read the entire post [...]

Don’t cut off your laces

The Peachtree Road Race lottery is over. The runners have been selected, and the notifications have been sent out. Did you get in to the world's largest 10k? Call it what you want -- luck or good timing -- but I got in. So did my Dad, sister, her husband, and his sister. The whole gang! I'm pretty excited about it. I think the whole idea of a "lottery" made me a bit nervous, and rightfully so. Apparently, Read the entire post [...]

Who doesn’t love race photos?

Honestly. Who doesn't love a good mid-race action shot? The sweating. The look of pain and/or triumph. The memories. The feeling of pride. The energy. The crowd. The runner. The running. A race photo always evokes an emotion for me -- even if it's of someone else. I recently saw a race photo that I fell in love with. It was from a sort of Interior Design blog, and was being used as an example of Read the entire post [...]
